Basketball Recap: Crowley Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

It's playoff time, and Crowley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Eastwood Troopers by a score of 69-56 on Friday. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Troopers are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastwood's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Devin Falk-Ramirez, who on his way to 22 points, and Julien Falk-Ramirez, who posted 21 points. That was a full 39.3% of Eastwood's points, marking the seventh time in a row Devin has scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Edward Avila, who earned seven points.

Crowley is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record this season. Eastwood's loss dropped their record down to 26-7.

Looking ahead, Crowley will take on Guyer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Guyer will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Crowley surely won't give up without a fight. Eastwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
