Football Recap: Mccutcheon Comes Up Short at Home Against Guerin Catholic

McCutcheon unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 30-13 to the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

McCutcheon's loss came despite strong showings from Tyler Brigham and Landon Vandergoltz. Brigham rushed for 66 yards and one TD, while Vandergoltz rushed for 84 yards on only nine carries.

Quentin Klee had a dynamite game For Guerin Catholic., throwing for 301 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. A healthy portion of Klee's aerial production (83 yards to be exact) went to Isaiah Lewis, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Looking ahead, McCutcheon is taking a road trip to face off against West Lafayette at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Guerin Catholic, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Pendleton Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
