The Ridgewood Generals will head out on the road to face off against the Zanesville Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Ridgewood has three straight victories, Zanesville has 21 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Ridgewood is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over Hiland on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Generals with their most commanding win of the season.
Ava Kulbacki and Pru Fechuch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Kulbacki struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Fechuch pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave Kulbacki a new career-high. At the plate, Kulbacki went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles, while Fechuch went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Alexis Starkey was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Miciah Cahill was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Ridgewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Zanesville fell victim to Granville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 14-0 to the Blue Aces.
Ridgewood's record now sits at 8-5-1. As for Zanesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Zanesville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Ridgewood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Zanesville, though, as they've been averaging only 1.7 strikeouts. Will Ridgewood keep running through batters, or will the Blue Devils buck the trend?
Ridgewood took their win against Zanesville in their previous matchup back in March of 2021 by a conclusive 10-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Generals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
