Basketball Recap: New Mexico Military Institute Victorious

New Mexico Military Institute won the last time they faced Hagerman and things went their way on Saturday too. The New Mexico Military Institute Colts sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-63 win over the Hagerman Bobcats. That's two games straight that the Colts have won by exactly two points.

When it comes to explaining why Hagerman lost, don't look at Jevon Aguilar. Despite the final result, he went 20 of 38 on his way to 49 points. Aguilar's afternoon made it 17 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Grayson Nowak also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steals of the season.

New Mexico Military Institute is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.6 points per game. As for Hagerman, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 7-4 record.
