Volleyball Recap: Mesquite Breaks into the Win Column

Mesquite picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the ALA - Mesa North Mavericks, sneaking past 2-1.

Zuri Blood and Hadley Wootan certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Blood had eight kills, six digs, and three aces, while Wootan had 10 assists, nine kills, and four digs. Another player making a difference was Elsie Palmer, who had 10 kills and five digs.

Mesquite's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for ALA - Mesa North, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's dealt a heavy blow to their 4-5 record this season.

Mesquite will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Campo Verde at 5:00 p.m. As for ALA - Mesa North, they will head out on the road to face off against Gilbert Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
