Baseball Recap: Carroll Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Carroll put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Corpus Christi Moody. The Tigers blew past the Trojans 7-0. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Trojans back in March, they had to take a 4-2 loss.

The result came thanks to Christian Hernandez's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Carroll is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 2-19 otherwise.

At the plate, Ian Solano was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dax Rodriguez, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Solano wasn't the only one making solid contact: Carroll kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.

Carroll's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-20. As for Corpus Christi Moody, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
