Baseball Recap: Southern Lab Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Broadmoor last Thursday, Southern Lab came back down to earth. The Kittens came up short against Ascension Christian on Friday, falling 14-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Kittens of the 13-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Southern Lab saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reginald Ellis, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Southern Lab's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-6. As for Ascension Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 21-7.

Coming up, Southern Lab will face off against Mays at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ascension Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against French Settlement at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Lions have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
