The Gray's Creek Bears are taking a road trip to take on the West Johnston Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Gray's Creek is leaving town to face West Johnston after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Bears fell 51-47 to Pine Forest on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Meanwhile, West Johnston had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 66-58 victory over Smithfield-Selma. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Spartans: they've now won eight in a row.

Gray's Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against West Johnston when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 49-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
