Basketball Recap: Chickasaw Chieftains vs. Robertsdale Golden Bears
The Chickasaw Chieftains lost against the Robertsdale Golden Bears back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Chickasaw fell 44-35 to the Golden Bears. Chickasaw has struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as their game on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Mallorie Rothe, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals for Robertsdale. Rothe hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Shaunte Sanders, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and two steals.
Chickasaw has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Robertsdale, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-12.
Chickasaw does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Robertsdale will head out on the road to take on the Toros at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Alabama (Spanish Fort is ranked 241st, while the Golden Bears are ranked 221st).
