Basketball Recap: Kelly Catholic Victorious

If The Woodlands Christian Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Kelly Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing Mattie Holmes. The Kelly Catholic Bulldogs strolled past The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-34 thanks in part to Holmes, who posted 32 points and six boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Kelly Catholic's points.

Avery Redmon was another key player, putting up five points and seven rebounds. Those seven boards gave her a new career-high.

Kelly Catholic's win bumped their record up to 13-16. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they dropped their record down to 2-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Kelly Catholic will take on Frassati Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kelly Catholic is facing Frassati Catholic at the right time seeing as Frassati Catholic is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for The Woodlands Christian Academy, they will head out to take on Legacy Prep Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 7th.
