Soccer Game Preview: Lexington vs. Chapin

The Lexington Wildcats will challenge the Chapin Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Chapin will be up against a hot Lexington team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Lexington never let Irmo get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Friday. That nine goal margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Their offense was hitting Irmo from everywhere, as nine different players booted in a goal.

Meanwhile, Chapin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Silver Foxes as they made off with a 6-0 win. Give the Eagles' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Chapin's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Lexington, their win bumped their record up to 4-2-1.

Lexington came out on top in a nail-biter against Chapin in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Lexington repeat their success, or does Chapin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
