Soccer Game Preview: Imperial vs. Holtville

The Imperial Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Holtville Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Imperial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Imperial is headed into Tuesday's following a draw, the team's first since December 19. Neither they nor Calexico could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Imperial's goal came courtesy of Enrique Guerra, who's now up to eight this season.

Meanwhile, Holtville managed to keep up with Central until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Holtville came up short against Central, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly four goals.

Holtville dropped their record down to 6-7-1 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. Imperial's draw makes their record 10-4-6 this season.

Imperial suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Holtville when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Imperial avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
