Athens barely beat Nelsonville-York the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Buckeyes 3-0 on Tuesday.

Athens never let Nelsonville-York on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-12, 26-24.

Ava Meili paced Athens' offense, picking up ten kills. Meili got some help from Sofia Smith and her 19 assists. Evie Garland controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the loss, Nelsonville-York saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kinslie Lanning had 13 digs and one assist.

Athens is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Nelsonville-York, their defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-9.

Athens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against River Valley on the 2nd. As for Nelsonville-York, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Meigs on the 2nd.
