            Baseball Recap: Latin Romans vs. Ridgewood Rebels        
        
		
        
        
            If Latin was riding high  fresh off their  11-1 takedown of Lake Forest Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Romans fell just short of the Ridgewood Rebels by a score of  5-4 on Friday. The Romans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
  Karim Patterson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI.  John Rose was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  double and one  RBI.
Having lost for the first time  this season, Latin  fell to 2-1. As for Ridgewood, their win  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 7-5.
 Looking ahead, Latin will square off against Northridge at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Ridgewood, they will face off against Riverside-Brookfield at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6  runs per game  this season, so the Rebels' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
