Football Game Preview: William Penn Colonials vs. Middletown Cavaliers

William Penn is 1-9 against Middletown since September of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Colonials will welcome the Cavaliers at 12:00 p.m. The contest will give William Penn their first taste of in-conference action this season.

William Penn is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Dover, who was ranked 12th at the time (William Penn was ranked 22nd). The Colonials blew past the Senators, posting a 38-7 win. The Colonials' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last four games.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for Middletown, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They came out on top against Sussex Central by a score of 21-14 on Friday.

William Penn's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Middletown, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.

William Penn came up short against Middletown when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 18-8. Can the Colonials avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
