Patrick County is 9-1 against Floyd County since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Patrick County sitting on seven straight wins and Floyd County on five.

It was a proper cat-fight when Patrick County faced off against Radford on Wednesday. The Cougars came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 11-7.

Four must be Floyd County's lucky number: they beat Patrick Henry with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Buffaloes walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Patriots. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 12, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Patrick County pushed their record up to 7-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Floyd County, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Patrick County was able to grind out a solid victory over Floyd County in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Buffaloes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
