Basketball Recap: Voyager Academy Beats Eno River Academy for Their Seventh Straight Win

Voyager Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eno River Academy Bobcats 75-47. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Leading Voyager Academy to victory were Will Cameron and McKinley Hemsley. Cameron posted six points along with nine boards and seven steals, while Hemsley went 5 for 7 to rack up 12 points. What's more, Cameron also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Abba Katembo also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Voyager Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cole Creedle, who earned 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Moore, who put up six points.

Voyager Academy's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points over those games. As for Eno River Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Voyager Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 87-35 victory against Roxboro Community on the 31st. As for Eno River Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-54 defeat against Excelsior Classical Academy on the 31st.
