Soccer Recap: Webb Comes Up Short

Webb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 4-1 to the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Webb of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Webb's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1. As for Knoxville Catholic, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 7-4-2.

When Webb and Knoxville Catholic next hit the pitch, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Spartans will take on Fulton and their six-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Knoxville Catholic will try to stop McCallie's three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Knoxville Catholic have won three straight at home, while McCallie won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
