Recap: Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF vs. St. Mary's Academy Crusaders
Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF entered their tilt with the St. Mary's Academy Crusaders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF walked away with a 47-37 victory over St. Mary's Academy on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Thomas Garland, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Titus Varnado, who scored eight points.
Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which lines up perfectly with their 12-4 record this season. As for St. Mary's Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-12.
Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Wichita HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Wichita HomeSchool is ranked 97th, while Manhattan HomeSchool CHIEF is ranked 118th). As for St. Mary's Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Veritas Christian at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's Academy is facing Veritas Christian at the right time seeing as Veritas Christian is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
