Baseball Game Preview: Barrington Fillies/Broncos vs. Palatine Pirates

The Barrington Fillies/Broncos will take on the Palatine Pirates at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Barrington's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Palatine's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Barrington is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering New Trier just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 5-2 to the Trevians. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Fillies/Broncos couldn't push the score so high this time.

Barrington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Roberts, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Logan Glantz also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Palatine entered their contest against Dundee-Crown on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Pirates fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 7-6.

Jett Greiwe was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Monroe, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Palatine's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Barrington, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4-1.
