Volleyball Recap: Rifle Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rifle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against the Battle Mountain Huskies, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-10, 25-12.

Jasmin Abarca Holbrook paced Rifle's offense, picking up six kills. Abarca Holbrook got some help from Kensee Boyd and her 11 assists. Boyd was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Rifle's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Battle Mountain, the win keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rifle will take on Summit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Battle Mountain, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Steamboat Springs at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st.
