Football Preview: Inland Lakes Bulldogs vs. Alcona Tigers
On Friday Inland Lakes will have to hit the road after three straight games at home. They will square off against the Alcona Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Inland Lakes is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Montabella 46-8. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Mustangs are ranked 37th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Alcona was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 200 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.
Alcona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off five passes before the game was over. Somers led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself.
Inland Lakes' victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Alcona, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Inland Lakes strolled past Alcona in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a score of 22-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for Inland Lakes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
