York has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lafayette recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Rams at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for York and 37 for Lafayette dating back to last season.

York's last matchup with Poquoson could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Falcons came up short against the Islanders, falling 12-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered against the Islanders since March 24, 2023.

York saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Hunter, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Lafayette came up short against Jamestown on Wednesday and fell 8-4.

York's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.

Lafayette's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: York has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Lafayette, though, as they've been averaging 12.4 hits. Given York's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.

York took their win against Lafayette in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 19-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
