Basketball Game Preview: Fresta Valley Christian Pioneers vs. Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Warriors

The Fresta Valley Christian Pioneers are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will challenge the Mt. Carmel Christian Academy Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Fresta Valley Christian is leaving town to face Mt. Carmel Christian Academy after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Fresta Valley Christian took a blow against Wakefield Country Day last Tuesday, falling 65-33. The Pioneers just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 67-49 bruising from Shenandoah Valley HomeSchool. One positive for the Warriors, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Fresta Valley Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Mt. Carmel Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2019, winning 51-38. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fresta Valley Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
