Football Recap: Wright Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Wright fell victim to North Central and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Jets and fell 42-0. The loss continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Jets: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Pryar LaBonte, who rushed for 153 yards and one TD on only six carries, and also picked up 57 receiving yards and one score. Those 153 rushing yards gave LaBonte a new career-high. Another passer making a difference was Ben Stage, who threw for 158 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.

Wright's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for North Central, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wright will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Gogebic [Johnston/Wakefield] at 6:00 p.m. on the 24th. As for North Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lake Linden-Hubbell at 6:00 p.m. The Jets will need to watch out since the Lakes have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
