Basketball Recap: Madison Woodie Key Part of a Team Effort in Hawks Win

Thoreau won the last time they faced Zuni and things went their way on Saturday too. The Thoreau Hawks blew past the Zuni Thunderbirds 59-38. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hawks have posted against the Thunderbirds since March 4, 2022.

Thoreau's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Madison Woodie, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jo-Dee Delgarito, who had 16 points.

The win got Thoreau back to even at 9-9. As for Zuni, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thoreau has already played their next contest (against Wingate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Zuni has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Newcomb.
