Baseball Recap: Indian Creek Comes Up Short

Indian Creek had lost seven straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-16 to make it eight. They lost 12-2 to the Ashton-Franklin Center Raiders. If the Timberwolves were looking for revenge after losing 12-6 to the Raiders when the teams met back in April of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dylan Carey was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

As for Ashton-Franklin Center, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-7. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

On Ashton-Franklin Center's side, Nolan Rueff was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Rueff has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Logan O'Brien, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Indian Creek will square off against Earlville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Red Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.83 runs per game on average), something the Timberwolves will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ashton-Franklin Center, they will challenge Polo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
