Volleyball Game Preview: Arbor View Aggies vs. Shadow Ridge Mustangs

Arbor View is 2-8 against Shadow Ridge since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Aggies are taking a road trip to challenge the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Arbor View is coming into the match hot, having won their last 11 games.

Arbor View is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Palo Verde, who was ranked seventh at the time (Arbor View was ranked third). The Aggies walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Panthers on Tuesday.

Arbor View was especially dominant in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 25-15, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Shadow Ridge lost 3-0 to Faith Lutheran on Tuesday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.

Shadow Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Arbor View, their win bumped their record up to 26-6.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Arbor View has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.7 aces per game. However, it's not like Shadow Ridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Everything went Arbor View's way against Shadow Ridge in their previous matchup back in September, as Arbor View made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aggies since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
