Basketball Recap: Lutheran's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lutheran had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hartsburg-Emden Stags with a sharp 76-50 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Crusaders also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hartsburg-Emden lost, don't look at Cage Crumpler. Despite the final result, he posted 27 points. Those 27 points gave Crumpler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Swinford, who earned ten points.

Lutheran pushed their record up to 8-18 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

Looking ahead, Lutheran will take on Mt. Olive at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lutheran is facing Mt. Olive at the right time seeing as Mt. Olive is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Hartsburg-Emden, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-56 win against DeLand-Weldon on the 13th.
