Baseball Game Preview: Killian Cougars vs. St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders

The Killian Cougars will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Killian is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell just short of Stoneman Douglas by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Killian got a good showing from Sebastian Perez, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Killian saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Zeledon, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas didn't have quite enough to beat Neumann on Tuesday and fell 6-5.

St. Thomas Aquinas also got a good showing from Julian Diaz, who pitched four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Hunter Mercer made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. Another player making a difference was Nico Sabatino, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
