Volleyball Game Preview: St. Francis DeSales Stallions vs. Bishop Watterson Eagles

St. Francis DeSales is 0-10 against Bishop Watterson since September of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Stallions will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:30 p.m.

St. Francis DeSales came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Dublin Scioto, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Stallions have suffered since September 10th.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Bishop Watterson waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Celtics as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Bishop Watterson was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-18, 25-21.

Bishop Watterson's win came from a few key players St. Francis DeSales will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maddie Lane, who had six aces and five digs. Those six aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashley Moreland, who had 14 digs and one assist.

Bishop Watterson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.

St. Francis DeSales' defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Bishop Watterson, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

St. Francis DeSales suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Bishop Watterson in their previous matchup on September 10th. Can the Stallions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
