Softball Recap: Whittier Christian's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

Whittier Christian managed to slip by Valley Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Heralds lost 14-1 to the Defenders on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Heralds, who until this game were averaging 3.19 runs allowed.

Whittier Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sofia Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

Whittier Christian's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-6. As for Valley Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whittier Christian will venture away from home to challenge Heritage Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Christian, they will head out to face off against Saint Joseph at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Defenders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Jesters have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
