Basketball Recap: Raleigh Takes a Loss

Raleigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 73-15 loss at the hands of the Pisgah Dragons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-15 on January 7th.

Pisgah was led to victory by Laylah Johnson and Madysen Washington. Johnson went 8 for 11 on her way to 20 points and eight steals, while Washington posted 11 points and seven steals. Johnson's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Desiree Morris was another key player, putting up 12 points and four steals.

Raleigh's loss dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Pisgah, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raleigh will host Pelahatchie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pisgah, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Crystal Springs at 6:00 p.m.
