Basketball Recap: Harvest Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Harvest Christian Academy managed to keep up with St. Francis until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Harvest Christian Academy Lions came up short against the St. Francis Spartans, falling 62-37. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while the Spartans are ranked 188th).

Despite the defeat, Harvest Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elijah Bell posted 13 points along with eight boards and five assists. Bell is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last five games he's played.

Harvest Christian Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-18 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for St. Francis and bumps their season record up to 13-14.

Harvest Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-58 loss against Wheeling on the 15th. As for St. Francis, they have also already played their next game, a 65-29 defeat against St. Laurence on the 14th.
