Basketball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Webster Groves

While Webster Groves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down the Kirkwood Pioneers 58-41 on Friday. Given the Statesmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Pioneers are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Webster Groves pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Kirkwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Webster Groves beat Kirkwood by a score of 58-41 on Saturday.
