Softball Game Preview: Monmouth Regional Falcons vs. Manchester Township Hawks

The Monmouth Regional Falcons are taking a road trip to square off against the Manchester Township Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Monmouth Regional's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Raritan hitters got past them. The Falcons lost 12-1 to the Rockets on Thursday. The Falcons have struggled against the Rockets recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Manchester Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Barnegat, falling 14-2.

Monmouth Regional's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Manchester Township, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Everything went Monmouth Regional's way against Manchester Township in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Monmouth Regional made off with a 17-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
