Softball Preview: Ritchie County Rebels vs. Braxton County Eagles

The Ritchie County Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Braxton County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ritchie County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Ritchie County took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Williamstown with a sharp 19-13 win. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Rocklyn Marcum was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. In other batting news, Ritchie County got a massive performance out of Rindy Perkins, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Perkins a new career-high. Ava Satterfield was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
