The Ritchie County Rebels will head out on the road to challenge the Braxton County Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ritchie County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Ritchie County took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Williamstown with a sharp 19-13 win. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Rocklyn Marcum was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Ritchie County got a massive performance out of Rindy Perkins, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave Perkins a new career-high. Ava Satterfield was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Ritchie County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamstown struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Braxton County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 8-2 to South Harrison.
Braxton County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Conrad, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Ritchie County pushed their record up to 10-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Braxton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
Braxton County's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ritchie County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Braxton County, though, as they've only averaged .177. Will they be able to contain Ritchie County's hitters?
Ritchie County couldn't quite get it done against Braxton County when the teams last played back in April of 2018 as they fell 15-10. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
