Shaker Heights hadn't done well against Strongsville recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Red Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 4-2. This was payback for the Red Raiders, who suffered an 8-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Scout Harvey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

At the plate, Molly Milligan was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

The win made it two in a row for Shaker Heights and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Strongsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaker Heights will take on Firestone at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Strongsville, they will challenge Revere at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Minutemen have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
