Football Recap: Laton Skates Past Coast Union with Ease

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Laton faced off against Coast Union on Thursday. The Mustangs blew past the Broncos 60-26. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Broncos recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Andre Zapien had a dynamite game, rushing for 190 yards and two TDs while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Those 190 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Donavin Mobley, who gained 77 total yards and a touchdown.

Laton's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Cooper Thomas with two sacks.

Laton's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Coast Union, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Laton will look to takes advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Valley Oaks Charter at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for Coast Union, they will head out on the road to square off against Orcutt Academy at 1:00 p.m. on the 13th.
