Soccer Recap: Mt. Vernon Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mt. Carmel last Monday, Mt. Vernon came back down to earth. The Rams fell just short of the Richland County Tigers by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. Mt. Vernon have struggled against Richland County recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Mt. Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Richland County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Richland County will square off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Mt. Vernon will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' matchup: after the Tigers faces off against Salem, they'll take on Mt. Vernon again at 11:00 a.m. on the 19th.
