Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Takes a Loss

St. Augustine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the St. Joseph Academy Flashes, falling 9-1. The Yellow Jackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flashes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.

Kevin Willis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

St. Augustine now has a losing record of 7-8. As for St. Joseph Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-1-1 record this season.

St. Augustine will be playing at home against Lincoln at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Joseph Academy, they will head out to face off against Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
