Haywood is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They are taking a road trip to take on the Bolivar Central Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Haywood is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.7 runs per game this season.

On Friday, Haywood didn't have quite enough to beat Obion County and fell 7-6.

Carlos Hines made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Kevion Woodland also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Bolivar Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Lexington, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which Bolivar Central was not able to get on the board.

Bolivar Central also got a good showing from Kaden Ubelhor, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Haywood now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Bolivar Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Bolivar Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Haywood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. It's a different story for Bolivar Central, though, as they've only averaged .135. Will they be able to contain Haywood's hitters?

Haywood couldn't quite get it done against Bolivar Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-4. Can Haywood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
