Baseball Game Preview: Richard Pioneers vs. Flat Rock Rams

The Richard Pioneers will head out on the road to take on the Flat Rock Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Richard was handed a 15-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They never let Taylor get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Griffins recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Richard saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Valatka, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Flat Rock had already won 16 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 17 on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Eagles. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Flat Rock got a massive performance out of David Riddle, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Ty Bergeron was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Flat Rock kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Flat Rock pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Richard, their record now sits at 4-16-1.
