Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Corona

Centennial faced Corona in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Huskies fell 10-5 to the Panthers. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost seven in a row.

Ethan Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesse Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Corona, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-2.

Looking ahead, Centennial will head out to challenge King at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Corona, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-3 win against St. Mary's on the 26th.
