Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Raymondville's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Raymondville's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Kaufer Seahawks. While the Bearkats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Luis De La Paz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Diego Villegas, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justin Rodriguez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Raymondville has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Kaufer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

Raymondville didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 victory against West Oso on the 6th. As for Kaufer, they will head out to face off against Odem at 7:00 p.m. on March 11th. Kaufer is facing Odem at the right time seeing as Odem is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
