Softball Recap: Byrd Takes a Loss

Byrd came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-3 to the Airline Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 last Thursday.

Byrd has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's still a better percentage than their 4-15 record this season. As for Airline, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-10.

Byrd and Airline could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings. The Yellow Jackets will take on Winnfield at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (687 vs. 36). Meanwhile, Airline (ranked 52nd) will meet Calvary Baptist Academy (ranked second) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
