Basketball Recap: Hagerman Takes a Loss

Hagerman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by the Tatum Coyotes 61-11. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Coyotes are ranked 29th).

Hagerman's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Tatum, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hagerman will challenge Texico at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tatum, they will take on Fort Sumner/House at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fort Sumner/House has won four straight at home, while Tatum won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
