Softball Recap: Elyria Pioneers vs. Avon Lake Shoremen

After losing to Avon Lake the last time they met, Elyria decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pioneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 win over the Shoremen on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Pioneers have won by exactly two runs.

Braylee Beckham made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
