Softball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Has No Trouble Against Wake Christian Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Harrells Christian Academy walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Wake Christian Academy Bulldogs on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

Breelyn Peed was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Izzy Bradshaw was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Christina Barnhill, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Harrells Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The win made it two in a row for Harrells Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Wake Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

As of now, neither Harrells Christian Academy nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
