Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Annalyse Ayala and Nicollette Haya Lead Riverview to Victory + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Riverview walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Sumner Stingrays 3-2 on Tuesday. The Sharks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Stingrays, too.

Riverview took Sumner into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-15, 20-25, 21-25, 15-12.

Leading Riverview to victory were Nicollette Haya and Annalyse Ayala. Haya had 18 assists and nine digs, while Ayala had seven digs and one assist. That's the most digs Ayala has posted since back in September.

Riverview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. They served five more aces than Sumner's also-impressive total of 13.

The victory was the third in a row for Riverview, bringing their record up to 8-7. As for Sumner, they now have a losing record of 9-10.

Riverview didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Newsome on the 16th. Sumner does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
